VIBURNUM prunifolium BLACK HAW VIBURNUM

Blackhaw viburnum is a versatile and attractive native shrub, appreciated for its upright form and rounded crown. This deciduous plant can serve as a striking focal point in a landscape when planted individually or can be used to create a tall hedge or screen when grouped together.  In the spring, it produces flat-topped clusters of white flowers that add visual interest and attract pollinators. Following the blooming period, the plant bears yellow berries that mature into a blue-black color, providing food for birds and other wildlife. The foliage is dark green with fine teeth along the edges. As autumn approaches, the leaves undergo a dramatic transformation, turning vibrant shades of red or reddish-purple.
